Peak District Farm Cottage

MillClose Cottage

The Cottage was built in 1985 in a traditional style using local stone and reclaimed oak for the internal features.

We opened our doors in 2001 and have welcomed visitors from all over the world.

In 2015 we renovated the interior, upgrading the bathroom and kitchen area and adding internal storage.  The cottage has a lovely outlook over Loads Brook towards the newly created pond, which is attracting a variety of wildlife including herons, snipe, dragonflies and much more.

Located on the edge of the Beautiful

This area is steeped in industrial history, in this small area three industries thrived using the water from Loads Brook and a small dam to power a cornmill, brickworks and a lead mill.  The are remains of a vaulted tunnel from the lead mill, the dam and the mill managers accommodation exists and there is a site in the river where we believe there was a mill wheel.
